This post is also available in: Português07/11/2016 The World Travel Market, here in London, is one of the biggest tourism fairs in the world. We heard about it last week from a friend who works in the area and we changed all our plans to participate (we had already bought a ticket leaving from London today to …. surprise! We will tell you later about that). Today, it was the first day and I think we had no idea of how big the event is! Almost every country in the world is there, even Bhutan. It’s incredible … you visit Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy, Israel, Colombia or Brazil within minutes. The exhibitors, who are mostly tourism ministries and travel agencies, showcase real cultural immersion. At the Arab Emirates stand, for instance, you can experience a virtual reality tour at the Ferrari roller coaster; In Portugal, you taste milk liquor and a local pastry (pastel de nata); Over in Slovakia, a tasting of national wines; And in Kenya, a music performance from Maasai warriors. And from stand to stand, you get to know the world. There are also journalists, bloggers and web celebrities giving speeches on social media’s future. Anyway, all very cool. This first day has already given us an idea about the next trend in the tourism industry. What impressed us the most, for example, was the splendour of the stands from the Middle Eastern countries. Airlines such as Emirates have shown their new first-class cabins, which now come with a built-in suite. These countries have lots of money to invest and promise to be the great tourist destinations of the next years… We would bet the same. Perhaps, that could be Monday Feelings’ next destination… Let’s see!
