We spent about four days living in our flat, in Parma, with no light, no hot water, no heating – and it was bloody cold – no oven or fridge, internet and all of the rest of the appliances we normally take for granted to carry out our daily routine. That, actually, wasn’t really our first experience without electricity. For those with us since the very beginning, will remember our six months in Kenya, when we lived in an orphanage with no electricity, in the countryside of the country. However, this time was different. We were in the middle of the town, living inside a bubble – better still, inside a cave – alone, recently arrived in the country which we didn’t speak the language and about to start a new moment in our lives. “You know I am gonna win” Sometimes we think we chose the hard way, though undoubtedly the most exciting too. It turns out to be an experience we will keep dearly – as so many others – and which became our first ever photo shooting in Italy. Enjoy. “Are you looking at me?” We were singing every night to help us keep warm. No fridge, no oven… just us and a dark flat No electricity and no privacy either Planning, writing, dreaming Bread and wine. I think I heard this story before… First days in Italy + no electricity = we not gonna lie, we drank quite a bit during those days. Night, night.
